The British International School Budapest is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our Inclusion Department.
As a member of our highly supportive and collaborative team, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of learning, emotional and behavioral needs. You will work closely with our Head of Inclusion, class teachers, and wider staff to help every student achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
 
 
TEACHING ASSISTANT
 

The British International School Budapest is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo rigorous child protection screening, including reference checks and in-person interviews exploring their suitability to work with children.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Providing targeted support for students as outlined in their Graduated Approach Student Plans (GASP)
  • Supporting delivery of inclusive classroom strategies and small-group interventions
  • Promoting student independence, emotional regulation, and wellbeing
  • Adapting learning resources and approaches to individual needs
  • Collaborating with teachers to plan, reflect, and assess student progress
  • Supporting sensory, behavioral and social interventions
  • Assisting with administrative duties within the Inclusion team
  • Running at least one after-school co-curricular activity per year
Our Requirements:
  • Experience of the National Curriculum for England including inclusive practices is desirable but not essential
  • Advanced level of English
  • Experience working with children with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is an advantage
  • Empathetic, patient, and dedicated personality with a genuine desire to help
  • Openness to learning and adapting to the school's methodology and philosophy
  • Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills 
  • All positions of employment are dependent on the fulfilment of Hungarian employment law requirements. EU citizenship or a transferable work permit for Hungary is a requirement.
